When a visionary such as Marc Jacobs launches a new collection, the fashion world collectively sits up and takes notice. Setting off what is sure to be a serious trend come spring time, the fashion forward Designer showed pointy Mary Jane stilettos signalling the official death of the chunky super high platforms we have all been sporting these past few seasons. I think it is high time (pardon the pun) we put our skyscrapers to rest (for a while at least) and embrace the newer, more daintier styles coming through. Sheer socks (as above) are of course, optional.

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen has graced the cover of Vogue UK's December 2011 issue looking suitably festive in her colourful ensemble. Shot by fashion darling Mario Testino, the stunning new Mum wears a classic white shirt which has been paired with the tightest pair of multi-coloured striped legging pants I have ever seen and - to be honest - ever wish to see again. Well to be fair, this is a particular pant style only someone like Gisele could successfully pull off and even then it can only be done on a cover of one of Fashion's Bibles, wouldn't you say?

Loving: The Studded Brogue

Now I love myself a great heel and my extensive shoe collection would heartily agree. Ever heard the saying, "The higher the hair, the closer to God"? Well, replace hair with heel and that pretty much sums me up in a nutshell.

As much as I just adore the various stilettos, platforms and the oh! so now wedges occupying my wardrobe at the moment, I also love me a great flat. Sandals with intricate laces and classic ballet slippers are usually my flats of choice however lately it really has been all about the humble brogue.

Brogues are both comfortable and stylish and I seem to be finding it increasingly difficult to part with them. With two of my favourites currently on rotation - a black pair as well as a pair in an awesome metallic grey - I feel it is time to introduce a third pair before mine fall apart from constant wear and these Sandro studded versions are just the perfect pair to do so with.

Transformers 3 star (and November cover girl for German Vogue) Rosie Huntington-Whiteley would have lit the red carpet on fire thanks to the unbelievably sexy Richard Nicoll frock she wore to the Vertu global launch of The Constellation in Milan.

The strapless dress - from the Designer's Resort 2012 collection - featured a strapless nude corset style bodice which was superbly contrasted with an iridescent pencil skirt. Finishing off with a gorgeous pair of navy satin Ferragamo pumps, it was a seriously smouldering look all round.

The Battle of the Ombre

It's the battle of the Ombre with former Reality TV co-stars Audrina Patridge and Lauren 'LC' Conrad sporting the very popular hairstyle recently.

The Ombre look (or Balayage as it is also known) means adding lighter highlights from the mid lengths right to the very ends of your hair as opposed to lightening up your entire mane. So basically it looks as if you have let your roots grow out - but in a much nicer way, of course.

This is exactly what Audrina has had done here with various shades of blonde added to her rich brown locks recently.

Meanwhile LC - who has been rocking the Ombre look for a while now - mixed it up by adding a pale peach shade to the blonder ends of her hair. She took her inspiration from the runway and asked her fans to vote on whether or not she should take the plunge.

Being a fan of the Balayage look myself (I recently took the plunge - although mine is much more subtle than both Audrina and Lauren here) I think both girls look great but I especially love Lauren's daring look.

Mischa Attempts a Lady Gaga

Apart from being a constant fixture on several Worst Dressed Lists the world over (catty, yes but also true), Mischa Barton has been pretty much out of the spotlight for a while now. So perhaps in order to get people talking about her again, she has decided to pose for a selection of bizarre photographs, completely nude save for various cuts of red meat as her only props.

Taken by photographer Tyler Shields for an exhibition that’s currently being shown at the Intimate Modern Gallery in London, the shots show the former OC star rubbing the meat over her face and body as well as licking and biting into it.

Why would this one time It Girl decide to be apart of such a stunt, you ask? Taking a somewhat Lady Gaga-esq stance (who could forget that infamous meat dress?), it seems that Mischa is attempting to prove her relevance in this fickle world we call the Entertainment Industry.

This could backfire of course. If people still do care (and I suspect many won't) this stunt will surely be at the cost of complete ridicule on her part, wouldn't you agree?

How I wish I caught CNN's special Fashion: Backstage Pass which aired in the US last week. Focusing on the legend that is Karl Lagerfeld, the Man they affectionately call the Kaiser had loads to say throughout the in-depth interview. Known for his biting wit, his always straight to the point remarks and a host of unforgettable one liners, some of the highlights included the following:

"I have it in the blood." - Karl on his huge success at Chanel.

"I have no idea. I don't sing, I'm not an actor, I have no scandals." - Karl on his worldwide appeal.

"What I did she never did. She would have hated." - Karl on Founder Coco Chanel.

"When I make big efforts, it's for the garbage. When I make no effort, it happens." - Karl on his unique design process.

All wondered what would become of this infant often seen in pictorials alongside her brilliant father and Hole singer Mother, Courtney Love. Well here's proof that the 19 year old Daughter of Grunge has come of age and has done so rather spectacularly.

Photographer and former Dior Homme designer Hedi Slimane posted this seductive image of the Daughter of Grunge on his Blog over a week ago, making the fashion world sit up and take notice.

Leaving her awkward adolescence behind, the image portrays a confident young woman with a steely gaze and voluptuous pout. The several tattoos and a cigarette nonchalantly dangling from her lips definitely pay homage to her impressive rock lineage.

With the 20th anniversary of Nirvana's breakthrough album 'Nevermind' looming on September 24th, the timing could not have been better in reintroducing the young Cobain to a new generation.

If she is indeed Fashion's newest Muse - as most are now proclaiming - she'll certainly be one of the more interesting It Girls around.

Fashion Weekend Sydney

I - along with four of my girlfriends - attended Fashion Weekend Sydney last weekend and I have to say (with the exception of the massive crowds) it was an enjoyable experience for all. Choosing to forgo the opening VIP night that previous Friday, I decided I would attend on the Saturday (hence the, what seemed like, three thousand strong crowd) for a fun filled girls day out as due to our separate demanding lifestyles, it was something we had all been lacking lately.

There were so many stalls I lost count of all the amazing labels on offer. Having had just attended Rosemount Australian Fashion Week the previous week, all these great Australian labels stood out to me as I passed them all; Little Joe Woman, Shakuhachi, Miss Unkon, Bec & Bridge to name a few - there were also lines to get in at many stalls including the very popular Peep Toe stall where one of the girls purchased a pale pink clutch for the minuscule amount of only $19. Bargain!

Oh and how we loved the pampering stations that were on offer. There were expert blow dries from the awesome team at TONI&GUY, manicures from Essie and the Napoleon crew on hand to give us all makeovers. My girlfriends and I all lined up patiently to get our make up done by Team Napoleon and when it came to my turn I was so unbelievably impressed with my Make Up Artist, Nicki. Nicki worked on several of the shows during Fashion Week (no surprises there, considering she was amazing) and so - as we all were heading out together later that evening - I asked her to give me the most dramatic, black smoky eye possible, which was perfect for the runway as well as a night out on the town. And that she did. Perfectly.

With all of us feeling somewhat like models ourselves in the end we confidently sashayed out of the Horden Pavillion and into the Fox Studio’s Entertainment Quarter in search for food to round out our day. Would I go again next year? Yes, absolutely. However this time I will most likely take advantage of opening night in order to avoid those crowds!

10 Things I Learnt At RAFW This Year

Rosemount Australian Fashion Week was not only a great opportunity to catch up with various friends and acquaintances that I hadn’t seen in a while, but it was also a golden opportunity to meet new people as well. It’s also great for networking your vintage clad butt off – and what is fashion if it’s not about ‘good schmooze’? - Not only did I get to meet some truly creative, talented and wonderful people myself, I also learnt a few other things throughout the week as well:

1. Although you would naturally assume – in fact guarantee – that working professional Models would spend the time before Fashion Week waxing, toning, tanning, tweezing etc their already gorgeous bodies to perfection in preparation for the gruelling week ahead, it seems I was wrong judging by one particular Model who bizarrely chose to forgo a bikini wax whilst modelling a bikini during one show. Ladies, please. Visible pubic hair is so not fashionable. Or did I just not get the memo this year?

2. That people will actually wait around standing idly by in the aisles or on the runway waiting for that inevitable moment when the announcement is made advising people that the show is due to begin and to "please fill any of the empty seats available". Then watch as they hilariously – and quite literally - pounce on any free seat which offers a gift bag like vultures to prey.

3. There’s fashionably late and then there’s really fashionably late. Fashion shows don’t run to schedule. Shows do not – and will never for that matter – start. on. time. Ever. The end.

4. Negativity is unfortunately rife. Surprisingly for an event that is based on watching beautiful garments, writing about beautiful garments and wearing said beautiful garments day in, day out. It is fashion people; we are not here to solve poverty. I bet there were plenty of others who weren't able to score an invite to the event who would have loved to be in your shoes for the week. Stop complaining.

5. Also speaking incessantly during a show is akin to speaking throughout an entire movie. Yes there were a couple of shows that I could have easily fallen asleep to, however this isn’t the time to turn to your girlfriend next to you and start a conversation about how difficult it was for you to decide on which handbag to use earlier that morning. The person in front of you (me) does not care. Truly.

6. People will wear the most bizarre outfits in order to get ‘papped’ by the various street style Photographers that are in abundance throughout the week. The majority of attendees wore amazingly individual and interesting ensembles that I immediately coveted. A word of advice to the others though; there’s looking like you’re on the edge of fashion and then there’s also looking like you’re practically falling off.

7. The only person who can pull off wearing sunglasses inside whilst watching a show is American Vogue Editor Anna Wintour. And she wasn’t anywhere near this event, although many of her followers (?) clearly were.

8. Contrary to popular belief Fashionistas - and Fashionistos for that matter – do, in fact, eat. This fact however seems to be lost on many an organiser due to the lack of anything edible – besides free gum – and hence the need for my friends (both new and old) and I to constantly stalk The Orient across the road each day for their variety of (yummy) pub food.

9. Even if you are a ‘somebody’ nobody cares if you’re late to a show and your seat has been taken after the aforementioned and inevitable announcement has been made. This was clearly evident when a certain Actress (a popular former star of one of Australia’s leading TV shows) arrived so late to a show only to see her seat forfeited and remain that way regardless of the dummy spit that typically followed. Overhead from an organiser afterwards: ‘I am not going to make anybody give up their seat for an Actress’. Ouch.

10. That if you project a certain air of ‘Don’t you know who I am?’ attitude without saying a single word, you can surprisingly sashay right into many a show uninvited.

Nomiki Glynatsis Couture

During the course of Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, I had the immense pleasure of meeting Nomiki Glynatsis, an amazingly creative designer who hails from the Sunshine State. It was almost as if we were destined to meet I think as early Monday morning - the opening day of RAFW - I was upstairs at the Overseas Passenger Terminal checking out The Gallery - an area where several designers who weren’t showing on the runway during the week had set up stalls featuring their merchandise - when I laid eyes on these incredible pieces laid out in a glass case.

Those of you who know me well will understand my love of bold statement pieces. When it comes to jewels, I feel the bigger and the bolder the piece, the better it works. I am not one for the understated. It is perhaps the magpie in me as like this bird I am constantly drawn to anything that sparkles or shines. And needless to say, I fell in love with these particular pieces rather instantly. Later that day - after taking one of the label’s business cards in order to research further - I checked my emails only to see one from an old friend - and current Publicist with one of Australia’s leading PR Agencies - asking if she could set up a meeting with a talented jewellery designer for the following day. I checked the name; Nomiki Glynatsis. Fate, indeed.

I was lucky enough to meet Nomiki in person the following day and see first hand how her spectacular pieces are made. All pieces are indeed hand made and hand beaded from scratch with Swarovksi crystals, vintage lace (straight from Chanel’s old factories in France no less), freshwater pearls and various types of beads. A pair of earrings might take her 3 hours to construct whilst an elaborate necklace will take the patient designer no less than 39 hours to complete.

After graduating from her Fashion Design studies in 2009 Nomiki went on to feature in the 2010 Fashion Palette line up of up and coming labels, giving her the break she needed.

Although the label has only been around for a short period of time, accolades already include her pieces being included in the 2010 Grammy Awards Gift Bags which were given out to many a celebrity including the likes of Lady Gaga and Rihanna and also being featured exclusively at the L'oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival Beauty shows of last year.

Her latest collection is titled Romance of the Flowers and is inspired by the extravagant style of the 1920s. A collection I - quite literally - drooled over when I spied the truly magnificent range. These have to be the most elaborate pieces I have laid eyes on with beaded necklaces, earrings, bracelets, brooches and hair clips in glorious abundance. Stand outs for me included the amazing Passion Flower Necklace (a piece made using beads, crystals and pearls all set on a layer of crochet and held together by rows of gold chains), the Lily of the Valley necklace, the Mallow bracelet, the Primrose earrings as well as the truly divine Forget me Not necklace.

With these amazing pieces in your jewellery box, you are sure to stand out from the crowd as I discovered after wearing one of her pieces out later that evening to a fashion event. A gorgeous multi layered bracelet featuring drops of Swarovski crystals as well as beads and pearls garnered me many a compliment through out the night, which - of course - was to be expected.

Highlights From RAFW: Day Five

It’s the last day of Rosemount Australian Fashion Week and I rush to the OPT after a much needed sleep in after what has been a jam packed week with back to back shows, meetings in between and several evening festivities. I am dressed once again in entirely black and white - save for a gold bow choker around my neck - in my graphic print short playsuit and black linen blazer which I wear with the sleeves scrunched up at my elbows, a slight nod to the 1980s flicks that featured many a Brat Pack.

Guests are packed in like sardines at the Cargo Theatre which is the venue for the Saint Augustine Academy show that afternoon. All seats are quickly taken, there are people standing everywhere and there are groups even sitting on the floor. I don‘t blame them one bit as this is yet another show I have been anticipating all week as - evidently - have many others.

Designer Alvin Manalo proceeds to send out model after model dressed in so many lust worthy pieces I instantly covet several items for my own wardrobe. This feeling also includes all the impeccable menswear on show as well, which I personally find is stronger and more cohesive in itself (I adored the men‘s superbly cut jackets and blazers). Inspired by Author Tom Wolfe’s ‘Eclectic Kool-Aid Acid Test’, there is a certain 1970s Hippie, Rock n Roll, Americana vibe to a collection that features paisley print dresses, pussy bow blouses, several soft leather pieces, flared trousers and ruffled blouses which wouldn’t have looked out of place on the set of Almost Famous. An extremely wearable range that at times had a slight western slant with fringing featuring on the backs of jackets as well as on a short black leather skirt which was a complete stand out.

A few shows and a few drinks at the Rosemount Wine Bar later, I choose to forgo many an after party at the end of the event that evening and head off to the pub to watch the football (as much as I love all things Fashion, after the week that was I needed a break and with Football being another of my greatest loves, the timing could not have been any more perfect) before hauling my tired self home to sleep. And sleep some more.

Highlights From RAFW: Day Four

Today is a quiet day show wise as I have scheduled various appointments with Publicists and Designers throughout however there are still stand outs nonetheless. First up is Ellery - who introduced menswear pieces for the first time which would have no doubt excited many a male in the audience - and as I take my seat I instantly spy Lara Bingle dressed head to toe in the label as well as her good friend Actress Teresa Palmer.

What did Kym Ellery offer for the spring summer season ahead? Abstract, detailed tailoring with pretty cool oversized jackets, waists that were expertly cinched in and exaggerated shoulders made an impact. There were the prerequisite bold prints and the season’s nude tones that have also been so prevalent throughout many collections this week. A divine bright yellow shade was a stand out especially in the figure hugging, floor sweeping number that former Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins wore to perfection.

Later that evening after what seemed like a million stopovers around East Sydney and it’s surrounding suburbs I head back to RAFW HQ straight to the Cargo Theatre where popular New Zealand label Stolen Girlfriends Club will present their latest collection titled ‘The Big Comedown’. Bright garden prints mixed back with light denim pieces, some of which are detailed with soft leather panelling, feature extensively throughout but the stand out piece has to be the short A-line printed dress which featured delicate and intricate 3D flowers. Absolutely flawless.

Highlights From RAFW: Day Three

The sun is finally out on this early Wednesday morning and the Harbour is sparkling a beautiful shade of azure. We are half way through the week and although I am tired and my feet hurt, I am very excited for the day ahead. Today I choose to forgo my usual heels in favour for my comfy – yet stylish – silver brogues which I wear with pride. Oh! The comfort. I pair these with a loose cropped pair of pants (SABA again) and a vintage combo of black tee and yellow polka dot sheer pussy bow blouse (which is completely on-trend) and somewhat surprisingly I get snapped by two separate publications for my (very little) efforts.

First up for me is the Shakuhachi show being held on site at the OPT. As I take my seat just after Noon (when the show was initially scheduled to start) I overhear a couple of women behind me who are engaging in somewhat of a dispute over seats. It seems the person standing (and therefore complaining) has only just arrived to find someone already occupying their allocated seat. The only issue is that the announcement has already been made, advising all to fill up said empty seats. It’s an argument I have heard several times over the past three days and it isn’t the first time that I wonder to myself what the correct protocol is when this situation arises. Is one required to give up the seat they’ve earlier been asked to take once the ‘rightful’ owner eventually arrives?

There’s no time to ponder this further as the lights dim and the music starts. Many shows this week have made use of the screen behind the runway using this for various montages or short films before the presentation of their collections and Shakuhachi is no different. Models wearing loose clothing in an array of dusty pinks and peachy tones take the runway. Colour blocking is again popular with orange and pink used quite successfully together. Stand outs include mustard leather panels on pale linen pieces which are - in my opinion - just plain genius. With a few models sporting scarves tied around their heads - and paired with loose clothing in chiffon and silk - it gives the collection an almost Arabian feel. Sure enough I was immediately reminded of Aladdin’s Princess Jasmine when I then spied a two piece turquoise ensemble coming down the runway.

The mood suddenly alters as Adele’s Rolling in the Deep starts and a sparkly mini dress comes out followed by pretty little party frocks, a killer neon yellow jacket with sexy cut outs, a slinky nude dress - again featuring cut outs - as well as a jumpsuit straight out of the 1970s. It was instant lust at first sight for me when I spied an amazing shirt dress with sheer embellished long sleeves - a perfect take on a versatile garment that would be ideal for that next night out on the town. It was completely and utterly drool worthy.

A rare break in the schedule allows an opportunity to meet up with friends for a drink at Cruise Bar then lunch (and more drinks) at The Orient across the road before the next lot of shows. The next standout of the day for me however is the Dhini show. This was a collection I had high hopes for and I am happy to say I was not left disappointed. I spy the lovely Napoleon Perdis, Fashion Week founder Simon Lock, Romance was Born’s Luke Sales and Gail Sorronda’s Gail Reid all sitting next to each other in front of me as the first of many beautiful creations make their debut to the sweet sounds of birds twittering. Titled ‘Birth’, the collection featured sheer fabrics, delicate prints, detailed tailoring and simply luxurious silk trench dresses which I longed to reach out and rip straight from the model’s bodies.

There were cropped pants, printed jumpsuits, asymmetrical hemlines, mullet dresses, an incredible chiffon and suede low cut top which was paired with a pair of black and white pants as well as light, sheer frocks. I loved how two or more fabrics were used exceptionally well in just a single garment and I adored the sweet butterfly detailing which were illustrated right on to the pantyhose throughout the collection. Simply sublime.

Highlights From RAFW: Day Two

I bump into friend and Stylist Mitchell Steed at Registration to pick up our backstage passes to the Sara Phillips show which is being presented later that morning. Due to another chilly forecast I earlier decided to layer up for the day ahead. I am wearing my sass and bide black rats which unfortunately have stretched so much over several seasons of constant wear that I find myself having to annoyingly pull them up throughout the course of the day. After what seems like the millionth time of doing this, I vow – rather regrettably – not to wear them. Ever. Again.

On top I am sporting a silk sleeveless loose black top (pinched from my Mother’s wardrobe and older than I am), a black and white striped jacket from SABA as well as a vintage black fur gillet. My feet are snug in black socks peeping over the top of my black wedges. I also decide to carry a grey bag from Blue Juice that features a long strap to keep on my shoulders after suffering the previous day with my Louis Vuitton Speedy which I had to hook over my arm, leaving rather painful marks at the end of what was a (very) long day. Today I need my arms to be free.

Mitchell and I proceed to hang out backstage watching the models in hair and makeup whilst catching up on all the goss. After a few minutes of this, we take our seats in the dimly lit Cargo Theatre to await the start of the show. In the centre of the runway sits a large green bush which the models stalk around throughout a show which features superbly cut men’s style shirts, slinky jumpsuits, sexy cut outs on dresses and tops and high waisted printed pants in an array of colours (colour blocking is once again a trend seen here). The snake print is back with this exotic of skins expertly used in a pair of pants amongst other garments. The spectacular finale sees all models walking out and taking their place around the centrepiece for a visually memorable effect.

Afterwards – whilst watching Ruby Rose interview models Julia Nobis and ANTM winner Amanda Ware as well as Sara herself - we both instantly exclaim that this amazingly wearable and beautiful collection was a definite fave of the week thus far.

Next up is Little Joe Woman where everyone is eagerly anticipating seeing the stunning Yasmin Le Bon on the runway. One of the original Supermodels from the 1980s and 90s, Le Bon (who is married to Duran Duran’s lead singer, Simon Le Bon) has been best buddies with Little Joe designer – and former model herself – Gail Elliot for almost three decades. The show begins with various short films, many depicting both Le Bon and Elliot over the years before the first of a rather large collection – more than 60 pieces – hits the runway. Titled ‘Love in Exile’ the collection was inspired by the Rolling Stones album, ‘Exile on Main St’ which explains the Rolling Stones tunes throughout the show (I especially loved hearing ‘Can’t get no satisfaction’ during the finale).

Somewhat fitting then that leather and suede as well as the odd leopard print were all featured. It was a long show but worth it to see Elliot branch out as a designer (she has never used prints in a collection previously) as well as witnessing one of the Industry’s iconic models in action only metres away. There wasn’t anybody in the OPT who didn’t sport a smile when Elliot and Le Bon sashayed down the runway hand in hand as they had probably done numerous times in their heyday.

I head downstairs after a meeting with couture jewellery designer Nomiki Glynatsis – more on this in a later post – to the Cargo Theatre to take my seat for the Miss Unkon show. Glancing to my left I spot Cosmopolitan’s Beauty Editor Leigh Campbell wearing a gorgeous sparkly top waiting for the show to start. After all that complimentary wine after Little Joe, there’s a certain buzz in the air – and in my head. I realise that I have still not yet eaten and I glance at the time. It's almost 3pm.

My fur vest suddenly doesn’t seem like the brightest of ideas as it is starting to feel incredibly muggy inside. I try not to think about it – after all, suffering for the sake of fashion is normal, right? – and concentrate on the amazing raised platform dominating the centre of the runway instead. I take a quick phone call from my friend Simone Rayner – who is the Fashion Assistant at WHO Magazine – who excitedly tells me that she can see me from the other side of the room. I look up and sure enough I spot her waving. I excitedly wave back whilst making plans to meet up after the show before hanging up.

The music starts and the models begin to glamorously stalk the runway in an array of ethereally, flowy and softly draped mullet dresses, skirts and jackets in soft shades of various nudes and dusty pinks. Ruffles were popular as were the use of cut outs throughout the range. An amazingly textured jacket stood out as did a sweeping mustard coloured maxi dress. But the clear showstopper was an incredible floor length white lace hooded cape that had everyone simply swooning from their seats.

Spotted: The very handsome Justin Hemmes – who I very nearly bumped into – walking towards the OPT right before the Nookie show. Highlights From RAFW: Day One

It’s a chilly Monday morning as I walk through Circular Quay passing the ever amazing Opera House (where Australia’s current Fashion It Boy Dion Lee will show his latest collection to much fanfare later in the week) and head towards the Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT) for Day One of Rosemount Australian Fashion Week. Balancing rather precariously on my heels (black suede ankle boots - love) I pull my navy Stella McCartney for Target coat (with gorgeous peplum detailing) tight against my body in a feeble attempt to keep out the cold. It doesn’t work.

I arrive moments later to the Registration Desk to pick up my credentials for the week; a cardboard pass which looks harmless enough but is really the fashion industry’s version of the ‘Golden Ticket’. A pass to - if you may - another world. A world filled with impossibly tall, impossibly thin and impossibly beautiful people wearing an array of impossibly stylish garments. This particular pass will also – much like a General to his Soldiers - dictate where I will be for the next five days. I am also handed a RAFW Gift Bag.

Checking the time I realise that despite being almost time for the Bec & Bridge show which is scheduled to start at 10am, there are only a few people milling about in the Gallery upstairs. A quick text from a friend confirms what I should have realised, the Zimmermann show – which officially opened the event and which was held off site – started late therefore pushing the rest of the days shows back and considerably so. I sigh and sit down to have my first (of so, so many) Synergy drinks of the week.

Almost an hour later I am seated – second row! – and the lights dim indicating the start of the show. Instantly I notice that Australiana is a key theme here with many models wearing fedoras (called the Bianca Adventurers) which the label designed in collaboration with Akubra themselves. The collection – titled ‘Violet Haze’ and inspired by Supermodel Lauren Hutton as well as the late 70s in general – consists of fabrics like silks and viscose as well as soft knits and the odd crochet piece. Garments have a relaxed vibe to them with the majority of dresses and skirts shown having longer lines and looser fits to them. Colourful prints abound with New York’s Chrysler Building featuring as well as an array of florals. As loose as some of the garments are, others feature superb tailoring with high waisted suede shorts and pants in colours of merlot paired with sheer, floaty blouses. Stand outs include a 70s style maxi dress with a plunging neckline and a sexy thigh high split, a metallic gold pussy bow blouse and a knife pleated white and purple frock with a super low back. I also fall in love with the super high platforms featured.

Rushing from the OPT to the Cargo Theatre downstairs, the next show on the agenda was an old favourite of mine; Alex Perry, who said he was inspired by Cuba thus titling his collection ‘Cuban Princess’. His spring summer collection was all we’d expect from the Maestro of Australian red carpet dressing – and more. Gorgeous head turning gowns which beautiful detailing; origami style folds, touches of crochet, kimono style lapels and embellished bows featured on show stopping dramatic jewel toned gowns made with delicate laces and chiffon. I particularly adored the intricate flower print used.

The trend for draping was also evident in Kirrily Johnston’s ‘Habitat’ collection which was shown off site at Bondi’s Icebergs. Unfortunately it was an overcast day and as myself and the rest of the crowd mulled around before the start of the show, I am sure I wasn’t the only one wishing the sun would come out to really take advantage of the breathtaking views. The collection featured a host of garments in nudes and whites as well as a rather punchy orange shade throughout. I was – to be honest here – trying to focus on the garments as opposed to the front row which consisted of several 'names' all of who looked particularly gorgeous.

Over at Karla Spetic later that evening it was all about colour – this was to be a major feature throughout the week as well as, strangely, white – with cobalt blue, bright oranges and mint greens taking precedence. One major trend to come out of the week was colour blocking and this – as well as wearing head to toe of the same colour – was used here in abundance. Other major trends for the summer ahead were evident with sheer pieces and cut outs proving popular with Spetic and others. The collection was a mix of androgyny suiting and feminine dresses and prints – which were used on white backgrounds and made a huge impact.

The RAFW Gift Bag

Upon heading to the Registration Desk at the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Circular Quay on the first day of the event, I picked up my credentials for the week ahead as well as the official Rosemount Australian Fashion Week 'Gift Bag' which included the following:

A bottle of Perrier, a can of Synergy energy drink (no carbs, no sugar – of course), a packet of Werthers Originals, a pack of Extra gum, Creative Nail Design nail file, a packet of Uncle Toby’s Oats, various mini bottles of Redken hair care products, a Kikki K pen as well as cube notebook, Rosemount Botanicals lemon scented candle, a calendar featuring the work of Michael Michalsky (inspired by DHL) and an official RAFW notebook which features all the designers showing, their various contact details as well as room for note taking – which proved very handy throughout the shows themselves.

Each designer also had various gift bags to take with you after each show through out the course of the week and by the end all of our backs and necks felt the strain of being over weighed with these various freebies (oh such is the life) which ranged from cosmetics to magazines to even a cupcake amongst many other items. Let’s just say it is very highly unlikely I will be running out of any kind of hair care product anytime soon!

Thurley (Hybrid) Summer 2011

Fashion Stylist Mitchell Steed attended the Thurley Summer 2011 pre-RAFW show last week:

"So I have a rule, drink to be social but don’t socialize with a drink – meaning don’t get caught in a room alone with a drink in hand with no one to talk to. This ensures that you don’t consume too much, as when you’re alone you tend to have more in order to look busy. I didn’t follow this rule Thursday night at Thurley’s preview collection titled “Hybrid” and made a great Fashion Week friend!

Upon entry of the event space you got the wafting scent of fresh candles and an audible delight of a string section playing classical music, there was an impressive fruit and cheese table in the centre of the room under a chandelier with vines that had been pressed with gold, the same vine detail continued all over the walls, this made you feel elegant just by being there.

I nestled in a corner and put my bag and umbrella down before a repeat of the L.W.B morning would kick in, just as this happened a familiar handsome face approached me with a glass of Moet. The gentleman I’m speaking about worked for me at The Golden Slipper and vowed to never let my glass go empty at the next event due to my “stay dry” rule (never drink on the job if you’re the event host). This could have worked to my disadvantage as he really stuck to his word and I think I almost had the bottle to myself, but instead it not only lead to me making a Fashion Week friend but I gained a client to style while waiting outside for a cab.

Again like with L.W.B everyone intuitively moved to the middle of the room when the music changed, only this time I actually knew to move too! The strings became louder playing sweet melodies, each note sliding off the next as our models movements did the same. A collection that I referred to as a “fish’s dream”, sequins and embellishments dominated the garments' detailing which created a mood of luxury and red carpet, one dress in particular would be this seductive red dress with fringing details reminded me a little of the Golden Globes fashion.

I absolutely loved the sequin pantsuit presented, it’s so refreshing to see power clothing coming back into women’s fashion. There’s certainly 3 items I must get my hands on for my next shoot which I’m planning around the idea of luxurious fashion, I won’t ruin the surprise but instead tease you by saying it was a crazy dream and the shoot will be equally crazy".

Guests (Almost) Steal Bride's Thunder With Incredible Pieces of Head Wear

Forget about 'That Dress' for a moment - what about those hats?!

The invitation informed the ladies in attendance at the Royal Wedding that hats were an imperative part of the dress code and the guests certainly adhered to that particular request with an abundance of amazing pieces (many of them by the legendary hat designer, Phillip Treacy) on show through out the very grand and regal ceremony.

Some of my favourites below all included designs from Treacy with Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece in her pewter hat set with roses, It Girl Tara Palmer-Tomkinson (in her incredible electric blue hat), Royal Zara Phillips (Princess Anne's Daughter) in a chic black creation, Victoria Beckham in her navy blue pillbox style (which she paired with a loose navy dress from her own label) and lastly Royal Sisters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice in their colourful confections.

So elegant. So dramatic. So chic!

From 'Commoner' to Princess

Yesterday's Royal Wedding featured many a little girls dream; a 'Commoner' becoming Royalty after marrying a real life Prince. Back in 1956 however Actress Grace Kelly also fulfilled this particular dream when she became a Princess herself after marrying Prince Rainier of Monaco.

The similarities apparently do not end there as many have begun to compare Kate's (or Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge, as she is now officially known) wedding gown with the former Princess of Monaco's.

It's easy to see why as both gowns have fitted satin bodices as well as long lace sleeves. And then there's the full skirts and long flowing veils. There are clear differences of course with Kate's neckline cut much lower than Grace's very prim high necked version. This tends to make her gown - whilst still very classic - a lot more modern as well.

Another difference are the rows of satin buttons featured on both dresses, although note that Grace had hers featured on the front whilst Kate had hers at the back of her Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown.

Whilst both looked beyond beautiful on their respective wedding days, let's hope the new Princess does not end up with the tragic fate of her (somewhat) predecessor who, interestingly, died in a car accident just like Princess Diana.

LIFEwithBIRD (The Way) Summer 2011

Fashion Stylist (and friend) Mitchell Steed had the pleasure of attending LIFEwithBIRD's Summer 2011 show this week:

"Fashion Week started early for me with the first of the “preview” collections hitting at 9am on Wednesday 27th. Ordinarily this would be fine but as I’m juggling multiple contracts I had to rush into one job at 7am, shoot off 30 emails (due to Easter) then catch a cab over to Redfern to the Boutwell Draper Gallery and whiz back to the office.

My morning was fine up until I arrived at the venue, it seemed my hastily skulled coffee kicked in right as I turned up to the door, my face quickly resembled that of a mirror ball as my moisturizer melted from my sudden increase in body temperature. I was warmly greeted into the venue as I tripped up the invisible step then proceeded into a room of faces I’d never seen before, had that much changed since last year?

Blank white walls surrounded the space with the grey cement flooring taped into a special square pattern hinting at the layout of the show. The room was filled with the aromas of Jo Malone candles, fresh hydrangeas and brewing black coffee (my favourite!). Slowly soaking up my surroundings I realized I needed to ditch my umbrella and bag *cue “Three Stooges” moment* As I leant down to drop my bag I almost tripped the coffee waiter over, quickly moving to avoid him I knocked over a bottle of sparkling water… then my umbrella handle hooked someone’s Givenchy hand bag and I almost yanked them to the floor. Could anything else happen to me?

It all calmed down and everyone intuitively moved to the middle of the room as the music subtly changed. With a rendition of Kate Bush’s “Something Good” a steady stream of ethereal models began to enter the space in the L.W.B Basics range. Sheer cloud like fabrics wisped in the air as the beauties strode in to their marked out squares, soft tailoring with hints of shoulder pads were the first details to stand out for me. I just loved how delicate yet strong the garments appeared due to the great mix of structure VS fabrication. After the first section was over we were then shown the main LIFEwithBIRD collection, which featured their signature greys teamed against small doses of a soft hydrangea print. Oversized seemed to be the theme when it came to the blazers and shirts, injecting what can be called a relaxed luxe mood to the entirety of both collections.

It was good to see the introduction of the L.W.B Basics range along side the regular high fashion LIFEwithBIRD story, it allowed for you to dream up layered looks mixing both collections together. My strong suggestion is you check out both and keep your eyes peeled for sheer maxi skirts and the cropped cape shirts".

I am still deciding whether or not I like this look on Eva Mendes here. There is no doubt that she is one stunningly gorgeous woman and I am loving the deep crimson of this Gucci dress. I even like the Jimmy Choo nude heels, although that's no real surprise. The neckline right down to the waist as well as the sheer sleeves, I am loving. So retro, vintage and chic. The length however? Not so much. There is just too much fabric here and it really just engulfs her. Had it been a (much) shorter hemline, it would have worked perfectly I believe. In fact, she would have just nailed it.

Rosemount Australian Fashion Week

There are just three sleeps to go until Australia's highest profile fashion event - Rosemount Australian Fashion Week - and with more than 50 shows happening over five extremely packed days, it's sure to be a week full of hectic activity. I am excited to be attending several shows through out the week and will be posting reviews of said shows during and after the event.

I also have on hand a few of my Industry friends that will also be contributing their own reviews, experiences and such for DOAFM so all in all I hope to give you an idea of what goes on 'front of house' as well as the general chaos that is the backstage area.

Must Have Buy: The Nude Dress

We all own at least one eternally classic LBD (it is after all a staple in every woman's wardrobe no matter age or lifestyle) and there was even a stage a few months ago that we started rocking an alternative in the much softer LWD. A new season however calls for a new colour de jour and judging by these fashion savvy celebs below it seems it's now all about the Little Nude Dress (or LND).

In the past week stars such as Eva Longoria, Minka Kelly and Gwyneth Paltrow have all turned up to various events in variations of this new trend.

Eva promoting her new cookbook Eva's Kitchen in a one shouldered champagne frock with matching heels and a splash of colour on her ears (genius), new Charlie's Angels star Minka breaking up the nude of her Victoria Beckham dress with deep red accents with her Brian Atwood heels, sleek clutch and va va voom nails and lastly, Gwyneth rocking a peachy high necked sheath and simple pumps to perfection.

Be sure to add a LND to your own wardrobe as this new trend is both classic and modern as well as extremely versatile to boot. I know I will be!

I am a huge fan of black and white when it comes to decorating the interiors of, well, anything really. Rather than playing with colours, I prefer to play with texture and it seems that uber designer of It Girls all over the world, Alexander Wang agrees if this recently released snapshot is anything to go by.

After purchasing a $2 million loft in New York City's Tribeca, he has proceeded to decorate his investment using a mixture of textures through out from crocodile (for his dining chairs), velvet (for his couches), goat fur (for a pair of chairs), zebra (for the rug) and fox fur for a very large throw.

With the rest of his apartment featuring sleek black blinds and lampshades alongside white flower arrangements and plain white walls, the term city chic well and truly applies here. Love!

Mary Kate Olsen and Her Battered Hermes

Frenemies Within the Workplace

The regular workplace environment is a place filled with professionals who are there purely to get the specific job done. These are the types of colleagues who have no issues with the concept of teamwork and genuinely nurture rather than hinder working relationships. Then there’s the other type of work colleague that unfortunately has become more so prevalent. They are professionals in their own right of course - professional pests that is - the dreaded double edged sword in your workplace otherwise known as the ‘Frenemy’.

We all either presently have them or have had to deal with them in the past. That particular nightmare of a colleague who works alongside you who you think is also a trusted confidant but who really shouldn’t be trusted with the office coffee run let alone any of your ideas for that next meeting.

MTV’s The City may have been cancelled (sob) but one thing this ‘Reality’ TV show bought to our universal attention – besides all that great style and faux angst ridden drama - was that of the Frenemy. Poor and somewhat naive Whitney (and then more so Erin in future seasons) having to deal with Olivia’s constant attitude problem, sense of entitlement and lack of respect in each and every episode. This was particularly evident in the episode in which she unbelievably – and unashamedly - takes complete credit for a great idea generated initially by Whitney, which then eventually leads to an exciting promotion for the entirely undeserving Miss Palermo.

There’s nothing worse than working your butt off at work only for your so called friend/colleague to sit back and do nothing, only to then proceed to take all the credit in the end. This issue immediately becomes worse if this deception leads to a promotion of any kind. If I were Whitney in this particular situation, I think I would have thrown Olivia off the side of the DvF building in absolute frustration! (Oh come on, don’t tell me all you former City viewers didn’t experience similar emotions whilst watching the completely inept Olivia through out the course of the show. I thought as much).

A while back I was working for a company (which for obvious reasons shall remain nameless) and let’s just say these Frenemies were rife. Put no less than 10 females under the one roof across all departments in one tiny office space and watch the drama unfold Reality TV style. I quickly grew tired of several colleague’s antics when time and time again things that were said to one person in total confidence ended up on everybody else’s lips - sometimes barely less than half an hour after the initial conversation.

With cameras being let into some of our industry’s workplaces here - the (now shelved) Sweaty Betty series comes to mind as well as the up coming Marie Claire documentary style series and of course the currently on air Park Street - it will certainly be interesting to see if (and how) the office dynamics alter within these particular environments with the added pressure of cameras around - for all the public to see.

It seems Big Brother has officially infiltrated the workplace.

Fashion Exposed 2011

Grabbing my Media Pass at the Registration Desk, I entered the Sydney Exhibition Centre for Fashion Exposed, (which also included the Bags and Accessories Fair as well as Premiere) Australia’s leading fashion trade event which was held between March 6th-8th for Fashion Buyers across the country.

An extensive array of merchandise greeted me as I slowly made my way down each and every aisle checking out all the various products on show. There were plenty of intimates and sleepwear options in the Allure section of the Exhibition Centre, whilst designer women swear, childrens wear and street wear were all represented in the Preview, Junior and Streetlab sections. There was Menswear as well as the French Designer Showcase which featured the leading brands in Paris at that very moment.

Stand outs for me included Valerie Tolosa (who’s ranges are always a personal favourite of mine), Vintage Princess, Sass Clothing, up and comer Natalie Chapman (who’s latest collection I attended only a few months ago and was impressed by) and Glam Accessories.

In between checking all of these labels out, I also attended the Australian Business Seminars which were held on the Tuesday and which were extremely interesting and informative. Subjects included Buying Exposed: How to buy more effectively; Trends Exposed - Gaining an insight into Womenswear and Menswear for the Spring/Summer 2012 season; Retail Exposed - Global retail trends as well as Digital Exposed - Entering the digital world.

For those of you who own boutiques, who wish to become designers themselves, or who just want to meet the people behind the brand, Fashion Exposed is definitely one event to add to your calendar each year.

Who Needs Prince Charming, Indeed

The 83rd Academy Awards

Sitting at a friends place watching the 83rd Academy Awards, vodka cocktail in hand (yes I know it's only a Monday afternoon but come on now, it's the Oscars after all) I'm having a marvellous time oohing and ahhing over some of the amazing gowns on the red carpet and also mock yawning at the other not so fab offerings whilst simultaneously flicking between the live Channel Nine ceremony and E's Red Carpet Arrivals.

For those of you who haven't seen the ceremony as of yet (most likely due to a pesky little thing called work) I warn you as the winners in the most important categories are posted below. So skip past the list as best as you can (I mean, what are you doing on the net anyways, really?) and go straight to the images of various celebs in all their Oscar glory.

Now onto The Frocks.

Several celebs shimmered in various sparklers (Halle, Hailee, Mandy, Hilary and Michelle), others tried shades of reds, maroons and deep oranges (Sandra, Jennifer, Penelope) and purples were a triumph (on both Natalie and Mila) whilst the high neckline was very popular as seen on the likes of Amy Adams, Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Melissa Leo, Hailee Steinfeld, Cate Blanchet and Michelle Williams.

My best dressed list included: Mila Kunis in her heavenly Elie Saab lace sheer gown as well as Cate Blanchett in structured Givenchy Couture and fourteen year old Hailee Steinfeld's age appropriate and divine princess like Marchesa frock.

My Worst Dressed picks? Well I didn't really love what Penelope Cruz had on nor Scarlett's bland offering and whilst I applaud Nicole Kidman for taking a risk I am not sure I loved her strange Christian Dior Couture gown either.

I think we all look at Helen Mirren and hope we get to age just as gracefully as she has, right? I just loved her Vivienne Westwood gunmetal grey gown - especially the puff sleeved detailing - and along with her newly cropped hair she looked both regal and modern.

Best Supporting Actress Nominee (for The Fighter) Amy Adams did well in choosing this navy L'Wren Scott beaded number as the deep hue offsets

her red locks beautifully.

A glowing Natalie Portman (and Best Actress Winner) looked so pretty in her purple Rodarte off the shoulder gown. Her Tiffany drop earrings matched the hue to her frock perfectly as did her heels.

Javier Bardem (who was up for the Best Actor gong) looked dapper in his three piece suit however I wasn't a fan of Penelope Cruz's dress at all. Whilst the new mum herself looks great having only given birth weeks ago, her choice of gown left me rather bewildered. It's just not 'Oscar' enough for these awards.

There is just something that's a little off regarding Mandy Moore's gown. On paper it should have worked. It's sparkly and has layers of tulle and it's by Oscars favourite Monique Lhuillier. The makings of a perfect Cinderella like frock. However once on her it just looked completely wrong. She looked stiff and uncomfortable. Perhaps the sequins should have been kept to the bodice and as for the sleeves and the neckline? All just wrong, wrong, wrong.

Halle Berry looked both gorgeous and almost Bridal like in her fluffy strapless Marchesa frock. I loved the detailing that went into this gown; the nude underlay, the intricate beading through out as well as the perfect use of chiffon in her train. Not mad about those satin heels though.

Scarlett Johansson looked as if she got dressed in quite the hurry - sans brushing her hair - and said yes to just any old frock. The usually well dressed star just looked oh! so wrong in this Dolce & Gabbana nightmare which reminds me of a wine coloured carpet that has been trodden on one too many times. The colour is dull, the fabric drab, the overall design blah. Not impressed.

I didn't love Sandra Bullock's gown but I didn't dislike it either. The crimson strapless Vera Wang looked beautiful enough on the gorgeous star.

Here's one celeb that has been taking some risks on the red carpet lately and whilst Gwyneth Paltrow's hair and make up looked pretty enough, her Calvin Klein slinky gown just isn't 'Oscar' enough for my liking. A little bit tin
foil like unfortunately.

Whilst I applaud Best Actress Nominee Nicole Kidman for taking a gamble with her unusual Christian Dior Couture gown (she is known for her rather safe choices after all), it's a little more miss than hit this time. Sorry.

Best Actress Nominee Michelle Williams stayed true to her usual vintage style with this beautiful Chanel beaded frock. With her icy blonde pixie crop and minimal accessorises, she looked absolutely elegant.

Winner for Best Supporting Actress (for The Fighter) Melissa Leo looked a little fuddy-duddyish in her lacy custom made Marc Bouwer gown. I loved how she dropped the F Bomb in her speech though! Talk about having a major 'whoops' moment in front of billions of people.

Former Oscars Winner Hilary Swank looked pretty in her feathered silver Gucci

Haute Couture gown.

Flying the Aussie flag for the first time was Best Supporting Actress Nominee (for Animal Kingdom) Jacqui Weaver looking stunning in her beautiful Colette Dinnigan ballgown.

The always stunning Camila Alves (pictured with partner Matthew McConaughey) looked breathtaking in her low cut black ballgown.

Fourteen year old Best Supporting Actress Nominee (for True Grit) Hailee Steinfeld looked positively radiant in her age appropriate custom made Marchesa frock (which she helped design herself). Her ballerina-esq high bun and headband compliments her sweet and innocent look to perfection.

Reece Witherspoon looked ever so elegant and chic in her slinky black and white Giorgio Armani gown which - in my opinion - is a little bit reminiscent of that Julia Roberts vintage Valentino from a few years back, don't you think?

My personal Best Dressed goes to Mila Kunis in her amazing Elie Saab Couture gown. Everything about this frock is to die for from the pretty lilac colour, to the sheer panels, the lace inserts, the Goddess like draping and the train. It is utter perfection and she wears it oh! so well.

Jennifer Hudson stood out in her orange coloured Versace number which just popped on the red carpet beautifully.

And last - but certainly not least - is Cate Blanchett who stood out for all the right reasons in her impeccably detailed and structured Givenchy Couture gown. The way she holds herself is just positively regal and the dress itself is more than just fashion; it is truly Art.

Now this is an outfit the Tween stars of today (hello Miley Cyrus and Taylor Momsen) should be wearing when out and about completing promotional duties in front of both the cameras as well as their very impressionable young fans.

Selena Gomez is eighteen and whilst others might say that this bronze sheath frock is perhaps a little bit too old for her, considering what the aforementioned 'celebs' are rocking these days, I would have to strongly disagree with them.

It is short enough to be a fun, flirty and playful party dress without revealing too much skin as well as conservative enough to be taken seriously. The draped pleating detailing also gives the fashion forward star bonus stylish points, whilst her classic black pumps and paired down hair and make up round out the ensemble beautifully. Well done.

It's Whitney V Olivia as The City stars go head to head in the battle of the maxi skirt

It is certainly no secret that these two former 'co workers' - who have been at loggerheads since the very first season of the now defunct reality TV show - still dislike each other (as is evident in Whitney's book 'True Whit' where she writes candidly about the relationship).

The show often portrayed Olivia Palermo as being jealous of Whitney Port's clothing line and general success in the fashion industry whilst in turn Whitney seemed to be envious of the fact that Olivia knew just about everybody who's anybody in NYC (well she is called a socialite for a reason, Whit) even going as far as to label her an 'ass kiss' in one very memorable episode.

To say it's rather apt that they are going head to head in the style stakes in this post today is definitely an understatement of sorts with their individual takes on the floor length skirt.

The maxi skirt is one of the most popular skirt lengths of the current season so it's no surprise that both these fashionistas have recently been seen in variations of the style however this particular skirt length is notoriously hard to pull off as you risk looking more 'hippy tragic' than 'polished style maven'.

I am usually a huge fan of Olivia's extremely pulled together and polished style whilst being fairly impartial to Whitney's eclectic throw-it-all-together aesthetic but in this case, I prefer Miss Port's individual take on the trend.

By gathering one side up into a knot, she not only gave it a fresh look but also added some much needed shape as well. Of course it doesn't hurt to mention that this trick is also great for showing off a fab pair of heels! The overall look is both elegant and fashion forward.

Olivia on the other hand is over doing it all. Whilst all her pieces (the skirt, the boots, the belt, the fedora, the fur and the turtleneck) are all instantly covetable on their own, put together in the one ensemble as she has done so here looks messy and also makes her look like she's (shock, horror!) tragically trying just a little bit too hard. It's pure trend overkill.

First Look At The New Valentino Campaign

On The Campaign Trail...

I absolutely loved the spring 2011 collection for Valentino when I first laid eyes on it during Fashion Week last year and have been anticipating the release of the collection's advertising campaigns greatly as the range of beautiful ethereal pieces wooed me so.

Safe to say then that I haven't been left disappointed as the first shot of the campaign has been released and has model Julia Saner stylishly languishing on a couch wearing a delectable frock and one of the season's most coveted shoes.

The best is also yet to come as designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli nabbed not only the popular Saner but also Freja Beha Erichsen and Caroline Brasch Nielsento - so basically three of the hottest models at the moment. A total coup.

This needs to change and so I have been on the hunt for pairs in grey, beige and camel (camel is huge right now OS which means it's what you will be lusting after shortly, I promise) as these shades will also (like the aforementioned black) go with everything and I am just loving this particular pair that Kourtney Kardashian is rocking here!

President and Founder of Jimmy Choo, Tamara Mellon (who over a decade ago took the little known shoe maker and turned him into a global success worth a whopping $800 million today) is the face (and body) of the very first Jimmy Choo fragrance.

Shot by photography duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Mellon says, "We wanted something that reflected what was in the bottle, something empowering but also sensual and soft" and really, who better to front the campaign than Mellon herself then, who by all accounts is empowering as well as uber stylish to boot?
